Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 08/01/2019
INCLUDAS Publishing analyzes and collects data based on the traffic it gets on both this site (includas.com) and its partner sites (bridesinwheelchairs.com or shop.includas.com). We collect users’ non-personal data, meaning that we track which pages get views; the search terms used to find certain pages; how much time is spent on a site; what device and browser you are visiting the site on; your device’s country and city of origin; aggravated information on how your collected data compares to others; and links that are clicked on, as managed by Google Search Console (their privacy policy can be found here). Since our servers are located within the United States, your data may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States. Collecting this data allows us to enhance user experience, analyze which material on the site needs improvement, and cater to both search needs and website accessibility options.

We currently do not use cookies, but our third-party affiliates (e.g., YouTube) do so indirectly. (Google Analytics collects information about user activity on our website, as well as capturing anonymous IP addresses. You can read their cookie statement here.) The law allows us to store cookies on your device only if they are strictly necessary for the operation of this site. For all other types of cookies, permission must be granted to us by the user. You can learn more about cookies on About Cookies or All About Cookies. If you are interested in opting out of Google Analytics, please visit this website.

If you have submitted your manuscript to us or volunteered to sign up for one of our newsletters (either the INCLUDAS Newsletter or the Brides in Wheelchairs Newsletter) to provide marketing and promotional communications, we may collect and store information including your email, name, address, phone number, manuscript, marketing preferences, IP address, location, accessibility preferences, gender identification, age, chosen internet browser or service provider, and device, as well as any additional information you supply voluntarily. You will always be able to receive a copy of what information you’ve submitted to us for collection, and have the option to make changes. By submitting information, you understand and consent to the collection, storage, processing, archiving, and transferring of your data to us and third parties we share your data with. For our newsletter distribution, we use MailChimp and MailerLite, whose services are compliant with general data protection regulation (GDPR). You can find the privacy policies for MailChimp and MailerLite on their websites.

Our blog pages may give you the ability to register, log in to, “like,” or otherwise interact with third-party social media services, including, but not limited to, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and other social media services. These options may enable integration with and/or access to your social media accounts. We do not control these social media services or your profiles on such sites, and we do not establish privacy settings or policies for how your personal information on these services will be used. If you choose to voluntarily comment on our blog posts, that data will be collected and stored; it may be used for internal purposes (unless otherwise noted), to resolve disputes, or for legal proceedings.

Should a user contact us via email or phone call, messages and personal data will be collected and stored within our secured Google accounts. This collected data is only used for internal purposes (unless otherwise noted), to resolve disputes, or needed for legal proceedings.

We will retain all data collected for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined here, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law, and/or for historical research. While this website contains links to other websites, its privacy policy only applies to this site and not to any others, unless managed by INCLUDAS Publishing (including the websites for Brides in Wheelchairs and INCLUDAS’s online store). Additionally, the privacy policy can change without notice, but will be updated on this page. If you wish to get information on the personal data being collected or request to have your data removed, we will do so for you for free. However, data that is anonymously collected will not be shared with anyone, since that data is non-personal and there is no way of identifying to whom it belongs.

We do not and will never sell or trade your private information with any entity for any reason, but collected data will be transferred to new ownership should a new leader be brought in or should a company merger should occur. Any communication with INCLUDAS Publishing will come from an email address ending in “@includas.com.”

We use reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to protect personal and non-personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, destruction, and disclosure to the best of our ability. We only collect data that is relevant for our business and marketing practices or to improve user experience and accessibility. We take steps to ensure that all data is accurate, complete, current, and reliable for its intended use.

If EU/EEA or Swiss individuals have questions or complaints about our privacy policy, or need to contact us otherwise, please email legal@includas.com or call 818-350-3652 (US).

California Do Not Track Notice: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” feature that lets you communicate to websites that you do not want to have your online activities and behavior tracked. We do not respond to these “Do Not Track” signals.
